Questions we get asked.
Or reckon you're about to. Can't see yours? Just ask, we're quick to reply and there's no hard sell.
The basics
Two ways to have us. A hosted bar is the full-event package, you pay, and your guests drink as much barista coffee as they like, all free at the point of the cup. Spot-on for away-days, parties and launches. A pop-up is us trading at your event, a market, fête, sports or run club, an office, where guests order and pay at the cart themselves. Not sure which fits? Tell us about your thing and we'll point you the right way.
Everything. The cart, the Decent DE1 espresso machine, speciality beans, fresh and oat milk, cups, lids and all the bits, plus a proper barista who sets up and packs down. You bring the guests; we bring the rest. No hidden extras, the only optional add-ons are branding, if you fancy it.
One cart and barista, we call it a station, comfortably keeps around 60 guests topped up, pouring up to about 60 quality drinks an hour. For a bigger crowd we add a station: another DE1 and barista side by side, which doubles the pour and means one hiccup never stops the queue. Tell us your headcount and we'll size it right.
Getting the cart to you
No, and this is the bit that sets us apart. The whole cart runs off silent battery power, so there's no socket to find, no generator, no noisy engine. That means we can set up where mains power doesn't reach: the middle of a field, a park, a rooftop, a barn, a start line. If there's a spot, we can pour there.
Both, equally happily, the go-anywhere kit means neither fazes us. Indoors we slot into a corner; outdoors the gazebo keeps the rain off us and the machine, and the batteries don't mind a damp field one bit. Proper British downpour or blazing sun, we'll pour through it.
Not much. Indoors, a corner with a bit of room to work is plenty. Outdoors we set up under a 3×3m gazebo (ours or yours), so a level patch about that size does the job. Tell us about the spot when you enquire and we'll flag anything tricky, soft ground, steps, a long carry, well before the day.
Around 30 to 45 minutes from arrival to first pour, a little longer if there's a walk from the van or the machine's coming up to temperature from cold. We always arrive in good time, so we're ready before your guests are.
Cost & booking
Hosted bars start from £440 for two hours, our minimum, with three- and four-hour options that work out better per hour the longer we're there. The exact figure depends on how long you need us, the size of the crowd (which sets how many stations we bring) and how far we're travelling. Pop-ups are a different arrangement, guests pay at the cart, so just get in touch. Use the quote form for an instant indicative estimate, and we'll confirm the exact figure within a working day.
We're based in Horsham and cover Sussex and the near parts of Surrey. Local jobs carry no travel charge; further afield adds a small zone fee that we'll show you up front, nothing buried. Right on the edge of our patch? Ask, and we'll let you know.
Send an enquiry through the quote page with your date, spot and rough numbers. We'll come back within a working day with a price and hold the date softly while you decide. To lock it in we take a 30% deposit, with the balance due a week before the event. Full terms, including cancellation, are on our terms page and come with your quote.
Coffee & dietary
The full range of proper coffee, espresso, americano, long black, flat white, latte, cappuccino, cortado, mocha, plus hot chocolate, chai and matcha, and tea. Iced drinks when it's warm. Babyccinos for small people. See the full menu.
A Decent DE1, a serious espresso machine that lets us weigh and dial in every shot, so every cup is consistent and genuinely good, not just hot brown water. Beans are speciality-grade from Horsham Coffee Roaster, just up the road from us. More on the kit on the cart page.
Oat milk is always available at no extra cost, and decaf's on hand too. We keep a full allergen matrix for everything we serve, so if anyone has a specific need, tell us when you book and we'll make sure it's sorted.
The boring-but-important bits
Yes, all of it. We carry £5m public liability insurance, we're a registered food business, our kit is PAT tested, and we hold Level 2 Food Hygiene. If your venue asks for certificates, we'll send them straight over.
Branding
We can. A custom cart sign starts from £120; you can also add branded sleeves from £60 or full-colour printed cups from £180 (print setup plus your first 500). Smart for launches, brand days and away-days. Send artwork when you book, printed cups need a bit of lead time, so the earlier the better.
